Featuring six bars of rubber teeth and an industry-leading Vogel cam system, the AlfaTed hay tedder is engineered to prepare alfalfa windrows for the highest-quality bales.

Gentle Hay Fluffing Without Sacrificing Speed

The AlfaTed addresses a specific need in the alfalfa hay equipment industry – efficiently drying alfalfa hay with damaging the crop. Reel-type hay tedders (commonly known as hay fluffers) have always offered a more reliable and gentler solution compared to the more common rotary tedders. However, until now, there has been a significant tradeoff: ground speed. With more bars of teeth, along with the ability to fine-tune RPMs and cam action, the AlfaTed Hay Tedder allows operators to fluff windrows quickly while minimizing damage to the hay.

While data shows rotary hay tedders excel in achieving quick dry-down, alfalfa presents a unique challenge. Once it reaches a certain dryness, further handling can cause significant damage, reducing feed quality. The AlfaTed Hay Tedder features a reel design extends the window of opportunity for tedding, promoting further dry-down with minimal leaf loss.
