For many producers, achieving both speed and quality has long required compromise. Traditional reel-type tedders, commonly known as hay fluffers, are valued for their gentle handling, but that gentleness results in slower ground speeds, reduced efficiency, and more passes through the field.
The AlfaTed was engineered to eliminate that tradeoff. Built with precision and durability in mind, it enables operators to cover more ground efficiently while still protecting delicate alfalfa leaves. This allows producers to stay ahead of tight weather windows without compromising forage quality. At the core of the AlfaTed’s performance are six bars of Talon rubber teeth, designed to provide both gentle handling and effective tedding action. With the ability to fine-tune RPMs and cam action, operators have full control over how the machine engages with the crop, making it adaptable to a wide range of field conditions.
This level of control results in a more evenly spread and extended windrow, improving airflow and promoting a faster, more consistent dry-down. At the same time, reduced leaf loss helps preserve both the nutritional value and visual appeal of the finished hay.
